Empowerment Coaching is a collaborative process that involves the coach providing guidance, tools, and strategies to help clients achieve their goals. It’s often useful when working with reducing anxiety, worry, concern, stress and even catastrophic thinking. The principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that help a person address their catastrophic thinking also directly align with the ICF core competencies and can improve every coaches’ skills for empowerment coaching. Mindfulness of catastrophic thinking, recognizing one’s actions as a result of the thinking, and managing positive thinking into action moves clients from negative space into positive ones.

In this 6-hour course from the Elevar Group, we explore using the ICF Core Competencies to elevate your Empowerment Coaching skills in the same manner. Work to improve your coaching abilities to create awareness with your clients, empowering them with effective planning tools, and using real results to guide future actions and new ideas. Fine tune your listening skills to uncover what their worries are, so that you can use deep questions to co-create growth opportunities. Setting realistic goals, identifying what is within a client’s control, and what is not.
